India, Aug. 29 -- The Trinamool Congress (TMC) government plans to move a motion condemning the detention of Bengali-speaking migrant workers at various Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled states, during a special three-day session of the West Bengal assembly commencing on September 1, ruling party MLAs aware of the development said.

The MLAs said the government is also likely to criticise the deletion of names of voters through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll by the Election Commission of India in Bihar since a similar exercise is likely to take place in West Bengal in the run-up to the 2026 state polls.
