India, Nov. 14 -- Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Ram Kripal Yadav, who is contesting the Bihar assembly election on the BJP ticket from the Danapur constituency, is maintaining a steady lead by a margin of of 22,490 votes, leaving Rashtriya Janata Dal's Rit Lal Roy and others behind.

In the Danapur constituency, the Rashtriya Janata Dal has fielded Rit Lal Roy, while Ram Kripaal Yadav is the NDA candidate.

Ram Kripal Yadav cast his vote at a polling booth in Patna, as the polling for 121 constituencies in the first phase of the election began on Thursday.
