PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 23 -- The Prayagraj police on Sunday attached properties worth around Rs.15 crore, including a hotel situated on the Kanpur-Varanasi Highway in Nawabganj area, allegedly owned by gangster Mohd Nabbe alias Naeem alias Najme Alam, under the provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986.

According to police officials, Najme Alam hails from Mubarakpur under Nawabganj police station limits. Authorities said the assets were acquired using proceeds generated through organised criminal activities.

The action was taken under Section 14 (1) of the Gangsters Act pursuant to an order issued by the court of the police commissioner, Prayagraj Commissionerate. A public notice has also been ...
