Haldwani, Aug. 14 -- Three tourists were killed and 19 others, including a 10-month-old infant, were injured after a tempo traveller carrying 22 people plunged into a deep gorge on the Bhowali-Mukteshwar road in Uttarakhand's Nainital district on Friday afternoon, officials said.

According to the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC), Nainital, the accident occurred when the vehicle was travelling from Mukteshwar towards Nainital. The driver reportedly lost control while negotiating a winding stretch, causing the vehicle to skid off the road and roll down into the gorge.
