Upgraded Terminal 2 to open October 26
New delhi, Sept. 16 -- The upgraded Terminal 2 (T2) of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport will become operational from October 26, raising the airport's total annual passenger handling capacity to 100 million, operator Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) announced on Monday.
Delhi airport, the country's busiest, has four runways -- 27/9, 28/10, 29R/11L and 29L/11R -- and three passenger terminals: T1, T2 and T3, with a combined annual capacity of 109 million. While Terminal 1 handles 40 million passengers annually, T2 has a capacity of 15 million.
From the intervening night of October 25-26, about 120 daily domestic flights operated by Air India and IndiGo will shift operations to the upgraded T2. The move, DIAL said in a ...
