India, Oct. 18 -- A UK-based accountant has been ordered to pay nearly £80,000 (around Rs.1 crore) after sending an email calling his former boss's wife a "stupid lying c***".

According to a report by The Independent, Edward Franklin was ordered to pay £73,600 (around Rs.93 lakh) in costs and a £5,000 (around Rs.6.3 lakh) penalty by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) for the "childish, petulant, unprofessional and rude" remarks.

The dispute stemmed from Franklin's departure from a company, referred to as H in the tribunal's ruling. His employment was terminated in April 2022, and the company had ceased trading two months earlier after it no longer met compliance requirements.
