Mohali, Feb. 13 -- A two-year-old boy died after he was allegedly struck by a speeding and uncontrolled JCB machine, in Singha Devi area of Nayagaon on Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 12.15 pm when the victim was playing outside his home in a residential lane. According to police, the heavy construction vehicle entered the narrow lane at high speed and hit the toddler. One of the machine's heavy tyres reportedly ran over the child's head, killing him on the spot.

The child's family hails from Bihar and were living in Nayagaon, where his father worked as a daily-wage labourer while his mother is employed as a domestic worker.
