Ahmedabad, Sept. 7 -- Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch and Surat Crime Branch arrested two men from Chennai for allegedly sending hoax emails threatening to blow up the Gujarat high court and Surat sessions court, police said on Monday.

The accused, Mahammad Asfaq, 28, and Rajesh alias Raj, 33, are both from Surat, police said.

According to police, the threat was sent to evade legal proceedings against Asfaq, who had a trial hearing at the Surat sessions court on September 5 but did not appear. The email was sent on the same day to disrupt the proceedings and avoid his appearance, police said.
