India, March 19 -- US President Donald Trump has warned Iran that Washington could "massively blow up" the South Pars gas field if Tehran launches further attacks on Qatar's liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure, as the widening Middle East conflict increasingly threatens global energy supplies.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he did not want to authorize such destruction but would do so if Qatar's LNG facilities are targeted again.

"I do not want to authorize this level of violence and destruction because of the long-term implications that it will have on the future of Iran, but if Qatar's LNG is again attacked, I will not hesitate to do so," Trump wrote.
