RAIPURA, Aug. 14 -- A 2022-batch trainee IPS officer posted in Chhattisgarh's Surguja district has come under scrutiny over an allegation that he and two police personnel sought and received Rs.1 crore to settle a cyber-fraud case, police said on Thursday. Police said Rahul Bansal, who was serving as city superintendent of police in Surguja, has been named along with assistant sub-inspector Praveen Kumar Rathore and constable Anshul Sharma in the complaint. The complaint said the alleged Rs.1 crore payment was made through hawala channels in two instalments of Rs.50 lakh each in May 2026.
