Shillong, May 19 -- East Khasi Hills superintendent of police Vivek Syiem asserted that the bail granted to Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime accused in the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, resulted from a clerical error in arrest paperwork and would not affect the ongoing trial. "The person was given bail on the ground that due to clerical error, the number of section was changed from 103 to 403. There is no 403 in the BNS," he said. Sonam was granted bail last month by a Shillong court after the judge found procedural lapses in her arrest records, including failure to properly communicate the grounds of arrest and incorrect citation of legal sections in multiple documents prepared by the investigating agency.
