India, June 12 -- Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has been denied entry into Canada due to his outstanding UK rape and sexual assault charges. The 32-year-old footballer will miss his nation's first World Cup game in Toronto against Panama. Partey is charged with seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving four different women. All charges will be tried together at Southwark Crown Court. The trial, originally set for November 2026, has been delayed and is now scheduled to begin on June 8, 2027.
