The managerial 'glass ceiling' at the 2026 World Cup | Number Theory
India, July 11 -- Heads have rolled at the FIFA World Cup 2026. South Korean manager Hong Myung-bo, who resigned after the country failed to get past the group stages, has been summoned by the country's Parliament as one of the 13 people to delve into issues related to football management in the country. Sabri Lamouchi was sacked as manager of Tunisia after a 5-1 drubbing by Sweden in its first match. At last count, 13 managers at the World Cup had either resigned or been fired after football's marquee event, which happens once every four years. And they are managers of all hues - from their own country and others, old and young, with long and short tenures.
