India, March 16 -- Elections for the four states of Assam, Kerala, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu, and the Union territory of Puducherry were announced on Sunday. Polling will be a one-day affair in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam and Puducherry, and a two-phased one in West Bengal. Counting of votes will take place on May 4.
