India, Sept. 25 -- The Telangana high court on Thursday granted interim relief to senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Smita Sabharwal from prosecution in the case related to alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project, based on the Justice P C Ghose Commission report which probed the case, people familiar with the matter said.

A division bench of the high court comprising chief justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and justice G M Mohiuddin, which heard the arguments over a petition filed by Sabharwal seeking to quash the Ghose Commission report, directed that no adverse action be taken against based on the report. The bench posted the case to October 7 for further hearing.
