Chennai, April 3 -- Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader Udhayanidhi Stalin on Thursday filed his nomination for the April 23 assembly polls and declared assets worth Rs.20.64 crore in his affidavit, roughly three times more than his father, Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin.

Accompanied by senior cabinet colleagues including former Union minister Dayanidhi Maran, Udhayanidhi filed his nomination from the Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni assembly constituency for the second time.

In 2021, he won by 93,285 votes.

Udhayanidhi was sworn in as a minister of youth welfare and sports development in December 2022. He was elevated as the deputy chief minister in September 2024.
