India, Sept. 6 -- The Donald Trump administration's on-off efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war appear to have entered a new phase following a visit by the US President's envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, to Moscow for more than three hours of "highly useful" talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Witkoff and Kushner then landed in Kyiv on Sunday, and there is talk of "substantive plans" on the next steps for ending the war that has dragged on for more than four years and continues to cause hardship for the Global South in the form of food, fuel and fertiliser shortages.
