Lucknow, Dec. 18 -- The fourth T20I between India and South Africa was called off on Wednesday owing to poor visibility after a dense layer of smog engulfed the Ekana Stadium.
The match, scheduled to start at 7pm, was called off at 9.30pm after the sixth inspection.
The players had abandoned their warm-up by 7.30pm and returned to the dressing rooms.
All-rounder Hardik Pandya wore a mask during the warm-up, triggering online discussions on pollution levels.
By 9pm, the sizeable crowd also begun to thin out.
A statement said that the match "has been abandoned due to excessive fog, making playing conditions unsafe".P21
