Sangrur/New Delhi, Sept. 9 -- The Punjab Police on Tuesday formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the death by suicide of a 47-year-old Dalit man in Sangrur district, a senior officer said, adding that four people have been arrested for alleged abetment of suicide and hurling caste-based insults at him. The incident occurred a day after his public confrontation with state finance minister Harpal Cheema over the drug crisis in the region. "An SIT has been formed after the victim's family demanded an inquiry," said Dirba DSP Rupinder Kaur Bajwa.
