SIR exercise: 1 lakh plus voters flagged for scrutiny, 67% served notices so far in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, Aug. 12 -- The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Chandigarh has gathered pace, with 1,38,070 voters flagged for scrutiny and 93,193 (67%) already being served notices, officials said on Tuesday.
Over 20,000 cases have already been resolved, officials added.
As part of the revision process, booth-level officers (BLOs) are conducting field verification and serving notices to electors whose details require confirmation. Voters receiving such notices have been asked to submit relevant documents to the assistant electoral registration officer (AERO) concerned within the stipulated time for timely disposal of their cases.
