Simi Valley 'Sandy Fire' update: Evacuations extended as blaze grows over 800 acres; map, evacuation, visuals
India, May 18 -- At 7:30pm ET, the fire has grown to over 836.1 acres, according to Cal Fire, with 0% containment so far.
The fire continues to spread amid aggressive winds, and, as a result, the evacuation orders have been extended to parts of Thousand Oaks, Burro Flats, and Meier Canyon.
The fire is moving southeast aggressively, as per the Cal Fire incident command. Multiple structures are under threat. More than a dozen airtankers have been deployed even as firefighters struggle to contain the blaze.
At 2:21pm ET, the fire had spread to more than 183 acres, according to Cal Fire.
