PURNEA/SUPAUL, Jan. 27 -- The station house officer (SHO) of Gidhour police station has been suspended and a probe ordered in connection with a sensational robbery at the residence of a retired civil surgeon in Jamui district during the wee hours of Monday, officials said.
Unidentified masked criminals looted jewellery worth Rs.50 lakh after holding the family members - including the retired doctor, his wife and son - hostage at gunpoint. The incident took place barely 50 metres from the local police station, officials said.
