New Delhi, March 21 -- Unusual weather conditions driven by a western disturbance brought widespread rainfall and snowfall across north India, sharply pulling down temperatures by 3-10degC, and even to sub-zero levels in some areas, officials said on Friday. The upper reaches of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand witnessed fresh snowfall, while the plains of north-western India reported moderate rain and hailstorms. The India Meteorological Department has forecast another spell of rain and snow towards the end of March.
