India, Aug. 25 -- The Supreme Court will hear on Tuesday a petition filed by TMC general secretary and MP Abhishek Banerjee seeking an expeditious decision by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on disqualification petitions against 20 rebel TMC MPs. A bench, comprising CJI Surya Kant and justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana, is scheduled to hear the plea on August 25. Banerjee has invoked Article 32 of the Constitution to challenge the alleged delay in deciding the disqualification proceedings against the MPs, who have broken away from the TMC and sought recognition as a separate group in the Lok Sabha. htc
