SC judgment today on SIR exercise challenge
New Delhi, May 27 -- The Supreme Court will on Wednesday deliver its ruling on petitions challenging the validity of the special intensive revision (SIR) conducted by the Election Commission of India (ECI), in what will amount to the most significant judicial review of the country's electoral roll architecture since the Constitution came into force.
A bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi had on January 29 reserved judgment after hearing arguments over several dates spread across nearly three months.
