India, Oct. 1 -- A key legal tangle facing the proposed Mumbai Metro 6 (Swami Samarth Nagar- Vikhroli-Kanjurmarg) car depot at Kanjurmarg has been cleared, with the Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissing the appeal on a Bombay high court order concerning the disputed salt pan land.

A Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana dismissed a plea by developer Maheshkumar G Garodia challenging a Bombay high court judgment of February 13, 2026. The HC judgment had also dismissed Garodia's claims to leasehold rights over approximately 250 acres of salt pan land, of which the government had transferred 15 hectares to MMRDA for setting up a car depot for Mumbai Metro 6.
