New Delhi, June 5 -- Concerned over the mounting backlog of so-called execution proceedings across the country, the Supreme Court has sought a clear timeline from the Union government for notifying the long-pending Commercial Courts Rules, 2021, while indicating that if the Centre is unwilling to move forward with the framework, high courts should consider independently establishing dedicated "District Execution Cells" to expedite enforcement of decrees.
