New Delhi, June 30 -- A month after a six-storey building collapsed in south Delhi's Saidulajab village, killing six people and trapping more than 15 beneath the rubble, the site remains strewn with debris while similar multi-storey buildings in the neighbourhood continue to house coaching centres, libraries, eateries and offices despite concerns over safety. Mounds of debris, twisted rebars, broken furniture and damaged belongings still lie in the narrow lane where rescuers searched for survivors for more than two days. The two neighbouring four-storey buildings that housed offices, eateries, sports centres and coaching institutes remain sealed and vacant.
