India, Nov. 7 -- Women's cricket in India attained a watershed moment last Sunday after the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side won the World Cup for the first time in their history. The hosts defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the final at the Dr DY Patil Stadium to be crowned the world champions. The India captain has now revealed that Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar rang the Indian women's side the night before the final, offering some words of wisdom.
It is worth mentioning that Tendulkar was also in attendance for the summit clash, alongside Rohit Sharma and Jay Shah. The Women in Blue came up with a memorable performance in front of a sold-out stadium to be crowned the new World Cup winners.
