India, Sept. 24 -- United States Ryder Cup members are being compensated for the first time. But, shortly after the news was announced that each player would receive $500,000 for participating in the biennial men's golf competition, world number one Scottie Scheffler and a few of his teammates decided to donate the entirety of their stipends to charity, reports ESPN.

"I've never been one to announce what we do. I don't like to give charitable dollars for some kind of recognition," Scheffler said in a statement. "We have something planned for the money that we'll be receiving. I think it's a really cool thing that the PGA of America has empowered us to do."
