India, April 1 -- Days after reports claimed that filmmaker Rohit Shetty was illegally using police stickers and flashing lights on his cars, his team has issued a clarification.

According to Shetty's spokesperson, the stickers were part of temporary security measures put in place after a firing incident outside his residence earlier this year and have since been removed.

Reports had suggested that at least two of the filmmakers private SUVs had police-style markings and lights, which are typically restricted to official law enforcement vehicles under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
