PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 20 -- The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board) is set to introduce an 80-mark written examination for Class 12, with the remaining 20 marks to be awarded through practical examinations and internal assessment.

The change, being planned from the next academic session, will initially be introduced for Class 11 and subsequently extended to Class 12. The revised assessment pattern has been developed in line with the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020, National Curriculum Framework (NCF)-2023 and recommendations of the National Assessment Centre ((Performance Assessment, Review and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development or PARAKH), confirmed officials.
