India, Aug. 29 -- As of mid-2025, more than 1.5 lakh housing projects and 1 lakh agents are registered under the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) Act, with 1.5 lakh consumer complaints resolved, Private equity inflows into real estate surged to $26 billion during 2017-2020, up from $17.5 billion in 2011-2016, a sign of growing investor confidence in the sector's regulatory framework and of RERA's success in fostering transparency and credibility, according to a report by Knight Frank India released in the capital on August 29.
