Punjab DIG sent to judicial remand
Chandigarh, Oct. 18 -- A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on Friday sent Punjab Police deputy inspector general (DIG) Harcharan Singh Bhullar, held in a bribery case, to 14-day judicial custody, even as the federal agency seized cash amounting to Rs.7.5 crore in searches at premises linked to the officer, CBI said.
The agency, in a statement, also said gold jewellery weighing 2.5kg, 26 luxury watches including Rolex and Rado, documents pertaining to 50 immovable properties in the name of the DIG and his relatives, locker keys and details of multiple bank accounts, and four firearms along with 100 live cartridges were also recovered from the premises.
