India, April 30 -- Chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday confirmed he will meet President Droupadi Murmu at 12 noon on May 5 to address the defection of seven Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha members to the BJP.

Though Mann had requested a collective audience for all Punjab AAP MLAs, the President's office granted an invitation to the chief minister alone. Mann said he still intends to travel to Rashtrapati Bhavan accompanied by his fellow legislators, who will wait outside while he presents Punjab's concerns and the AAP's grievances internally.
