India, April 3 -- Unidentified miscreants opened fire at a local youngster, Sukhwinder Singh alias Honey, outside a hotel in Phagwara on Thursday evening.
Sukhwinder, the key witness in a corruption case involving the arrest of four police personnel last year, was travelling with a friend when the assault took place at 7.15pm.
Kapurthala senior superintendent of police Gaurav Toora said that a case under the Arms Act, physical assault, and criminal intimidation has been registered against unidentified persons. He said police have gathered technical leads and the assailants will be arrested.
