Pune, Aug. 20 -- A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered in Maharashtra's Pune district, police said on Wednesday, adding that a 25-year-old man has been arrested over the case. The incident took place around 2 pm on Tuesday in Pimpalwandi village of Junnar tehsil, police said. The girl's parents, who are agricultural labourers, were away for work. When she was not found at home, police were informed around 6-7 pm. According to police, the accused, a farm labourer and neighbour of the victim's family, allegedly lured the girl on the pretext of taking her to eat guava and led her about 1 to 1.5 km away from the village.
