RANCHI, March 18 -- Authorities in Chatra district have launched an investigation following the death of a 31-year-old Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawan at a police picket on Tuesday night. While officials have confirmed the death, the specific circumstances and motive remain under investigation.

A police official familiar with the matter said the incident occurred at the Shila OP picket under the jurisdiction of Simaria police station.

"The deceased was a member of the SSB's 35th Battalion and a resident of Deoghar. He was found dead while on duty at the picket.
