ROHTAK, Aug. 24 -- Police on Sunday reopened the post within the court premises and deployed additional personnel to strengthen security, three days after gangster Vinod Panu alias Kana was shot dead in broad daylight at the Hisar district court complex.

According to the police, the post, which had been shut down a few months ago citing a shortage of staff, has now been made operational again. ASI Mahender Singh has been appointed in charge of the post, with 11 police personnel, including a woman constable, deployed for round-the-clock duty.

Security at the court complex has also been tightened, with every person entering through the main gate being screened through a metal detector.
