India, Aug. 9 -- Amid reports of depleting war munitions, the US Pentagon is reportedly pushing the country's defense industry to ramp up production of war resources as stockpiles diminish.

Previous reports suggested that the country's ongoing conflict with Iran has significantly depleted the military's arms stockpiles. The White House and President Donald Trump, however, have repeatedly refuted the claims and indicated instead towards a pre-meditated need to expand defense production.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement on Saturday that the department was actively focused on boosting munitions acquisitions to provide "the weapons our warfighters need at the pace the threat demands."
