India, June 4 -- Ram Charan's sports drama, Peddi, has hit the screens today (June 4). The film, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is one of the most heavily anticipated Telugu films of recent times. Buoyed by Ram Charan's star power, the film has amassed impressive numbers in advance bookings and looks set for a massive start at the box office.

Peddi sold over 82 lakh tickets across India on the day before its release. Sacnilk reported that the film grossed over Rs.20 crore in India on day 1 before the first shows even began screening.
