Panchkula, Aug. 14 -- A truck driver from Kaithal was allegedly assaulted and robbed of Rs.30,000 by two unidentified youths near New Shivalik Hotel in Pinjore in the early hours of Thursday, following which Pinjore police registered a case and launched an investigation.

According to an FIR registered at Pinjore police station, complainant Ramesh Kumar, a resident of Mator village in Kaithal district, was travelling in his Ashok Leyland vehicle after unloading a consignment in Malerkotla. He said he had received Rs.55,000 in cash as freight, out of which he transferred Rs.2,000 to his family and spent some of the money, leaving around Rs.30,000 with him.
