Bhubaneswar, Sept. 10 -- The Odisha Police Crime Branch's Special Task Force (STF) on Wednesday began probing how five orangutans, which are not native to the state, reached a reserve forest in Balasore, with investigators examining a possible sea route and the movements of vessels along the Odisha-West Bengal coast, officials aware of the matter said. The probe comes a day after the five orangutans were rescued from a casuarina forest in Ranakatha Protected Reserve Forest during patrolling by Balasore Wildlife Division officials.
