India, Sept. 8 -- Noida improved its ranking to eighth among cities with a population of 300,000-1 million in the 5th Swachh Vayu Diwas 2026 assessment, moving up one place from ninth last year, the Noida authority said on Monday.

The Union ministry of environment, forest and climate change (MoEFCC) released the results of the 5th Swachh Vayu Diwas 2026 on Monday to mark the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies, officials said.

Rourkela secured the first position among cities in the 300,000-1 million population category, while Lucknow topped the category of cities with a population above 1 million. Kalinga Nagar ranked first among cities with a population below 300,000, officials said.
