New Delhi, June 5 -- Even as the Hauz Rani fire that killed 21 people has exposed glaring failures in Delhi's hospitality sector, the city government plans to roll out a new B&B policy in two months - one that officials said is likely to continue relatively lax norms.
The blaze highlighted alarming violations: a B&B operating 25 rooms against a permitted six, an unauthorised restaurant, and no fire exit. Yet, officials aware of the new policy said the revised draft is expected to simplify licensing further.
