India, Oct. 26 -- Nick Mangold died at 41. New York Jets' legendary former center passed away on Saturday night at the age of 41. The Jets Ring of Honor member had been battling a serious kidney ailment that had forced him to undergo dialysis and look for a kidney transplant. Complications of the disease led to his untimely death on October 25, the Jets' official website announced on Sunday.

"Nick was more than a legendary center. He was the heartbeat of our offensive line for a decade and a beloved teammate whose leadership and toughness defined an era of Jets football.
