India, Aug. 17 -- The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Sunday announced Maharashtra governor CP Radhakrishnan as the candidate for the post of Vice President of India, weeks after Jagdeep Dhankhar's resignation.

The Vice Presidential election is scheduled for September 9, and the last date of nomination is August 22.

BJP national president and Union Minister JP Nadda announced Radhakrishnan's name in a press conference in Delhi.
