India, April 2 -- Coral Springs Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer Bowen was found dead in her home Wednesday, April 1. Her husband, Stephen Bowen, is now in police custody, authorities said.

Nancy's family confirmed her death in an Instagram post shared on Nancy's profile.

Stephen was ‌booked ⁠into the Broward County jail in Fort Lauderdale, officials said, according to Reuters. Police Chief Brad Mock said that no more suspects were being sought.
