India, Aug. 28 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday called for a broader sporting ecosystem in India, urging young people to explore disciplines beyond the country's traditional strengths and contribute ideas to build a stronger sports culture.

Modi was speaking virtually to students and young sports enthusiasts at the Khelo India Dialogue organised by MY Bharat at Ajinkya DY Patil University, Symbiosis International Deemed University, TJ College and Vishwakarma University in Pune ahead of National Sports Day on August 29.
