India, June 4 -- Newly appointed Karnataka chief minister DK Shivakumar on Thursday took potshots at the Tamil Nadu government over the long-pending issue of the Mekedatu dam project across the Cauvery river between the two states. Shivakumar said that the Tamil Nadu government, irrespective of the party, will do 'politics'.
"They have been opposing for the last 30-40 years. The matter has already been decided by the court. The matter lies with the central government now," Shivakumar said.
"We will do our job. They will do theirs," he said.
Shivakumar on May 26 welcomed the Supreme Court's decision to dismiss the review petition filed by the Tamil Nadu government regarding the Mekedatu project.
